Halloween Pumpkin Carving Party

Aww Halloween ......

Ever since I can remember my parents always had a pumpkin carving party around Halloween.  We would get together with a bunch of family and friends, eat food, carve pumpkins and line the driveway with carved pumpkins! My fondest memory is when we lined the driveway and deck with almost 100 carved pumpkins!  When my mom decided one year she wasn't up for throwing a pumpkin carving party by brother and I were devastated.  After a bit of talking we said no problem mom, we will throw the party!  The thought of not having one was just not an option for us.  So we carried on the party and each year it has gone smoother and smoother.  Here are a few photos of the party from last year.  I am getting more and more into the decorating of the party while my brother helps in the field growing the pumpkins, picking them, and bringing them up to the house.

Here is what my parents garage looks like when we are setting up.  I love their garage! I love having our gatherings there.  There is good lighting, plenty of space, and just an overall great place for our events!

They have a pool table that I love to decorate and spread tons of candy, goodies, and more on for all the kiddos to have!

I LOVED putting old face masks into jars of water! I just love how creepy they look!

I made some Ghost, Bat, and Witch Hat cutouts and placed them on lollipop sticks and put them in different jars with candy and such.

This is one of my most favorites decorations.  Devin and I made this years ago.  It is a black box, wrapped with toilet paper and has 2 googly eyes :)

Every year I love freezing spiders in ice cube trays and water in gloved to put in the punch!

I also love making pumpkin face veggie platters :) Top one is carrots, broccoli and olives and bottom one is carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, and ranch :)

I print a bunch of patterns out just in case someone wants to use them.

Here is a spider rings I wrapped in some web around a candle

At home I placed a wood BOO sign on an old ladder

And here is a burlap wreath I made and attached witched feet and a witches hat.

Hope you enjoyed!

Old Wood Window Frames

Old wood window frames turned into picture frames.  I have love for that rustic wood window and have come up with a few different ways to hang them on our walls:

I think my all time favorite is the one I made for the bathroom

I also like the frame in our living room with the polka dot wreath

And the very first frames I was able to get a hold of was a single pane window frame. I bought some 8x10 picture mats and added them in to give it the illusion of
Multiple frames

I have a lot more frames! And ideas! Just need to find the time 😀

Valentine's Day Party!

Valentine's Day Party non candy gift favor ideas.

I was SO excited about my cards
I had army men and cute black tape ordered from Amazon and was SO excited to get them yesterday! I opened the box to find this:
Those are not army men.....  Or tape.... I know I shouldn't have banked on it but I didn't think Amazon would let me down like this.... At least the tic tacs came!!!!

But there are only 12.... That is not enough for the whole class.... The army men were suppose to be enough for the whole class... Ugh 😩.

Luckily I had some straws and glow sticks from the samples I showed him in the beginning;

All in all the crisis was diverted and the party favors are on their way to the party!

The Big 30!

My best friend turned the big 30! She wanted to do a game night instead of a party and it turned out great!  I decided to make just a couple fun gifts to take with us!

I used a black flower pot for the base, some foam to stick the lollipops to and finished it off with a 30 sucks sign!

I didn't know what she would be drinking so I bought a beer mug, filled it with gumballs, and made a sign that said 30 blows
I also bought a wine glass in case she was drinking wine and put pink vinyl stickers on saying Thirty & Thirsty

The game night was a blast and she seemed to like the gifts so all in all I would say it was a success!

Perfect Fondue & Only 5 Ingredients!

This is a perfect fondue for any party or event!  We only get this once a year at Christmas from mom and it's always a tradition we look forward to! This year we switched it up a little by my brother and I making it. Usually my mom does it in a double broiler and it seems like she is always having to stand by it and tend to it. This year we used my brothers new 3 hole crock pot to keep it warm. We still had to stand by it initially to get it to the right thickness but then it seemed to be a little less maintenance.

Ingredients:
5 Cups processed cheese (2.5C Swiss & 2.5C American)
2 Cups Riesling
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Butter
1/4 tsp Accent
Your choice of dipping items. We like to use loads of bread (sourdough and rye).

Directions:
Tear apart the cheese. Bring wine, butter, and seasoning to a boil.  Add cheese and either set in a double broiler or crock pot. Stir until all is blended together.

NOTE: if it is too thick add wine OR if it is too thin add more cheese.

Here is ours in the crockpot. We won't even talk about the other fondue my brother tried to throw together. Let's just say next year we will stick to moms recipe!

How to tie a bow for your hand sanitzer thank you gifts

I have had a few people ask me how I tie the tag onto my gifts.  Here is a step by step guide, hopefully it helps :).

Start with the Supplies

Tie a knot (or double knot) around the top

Gather together BOTH of the ends

Pull both ends through the hole

Pull your tag all the way through so the original knot is through the hole

 Tie a bow

You will end up with extra on both ends

Use scissors to cut the extra off

And there you have a bow for your tags!

If you are interested in this tag or similar ones please check out my online store at www.KendollMade.com
